Description

Abhijit Sen was born on January 28, 1945 in a village named Keora in the Barishal district of what is now Bangladesh. He moved to Kolkata in the beginning of the 1950s. He finished his high school and some parts of college-level education from multiple institutions while moving from Kolkata to Jhargram, then Purulia, and then back again to Kolkata. Finally while working in an Insurance company in Kolkata, he earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History. In 1969, he sacrificed his job, family-life and domicile in Kolkata to join the revolutionary Naxal movement. After living in Malda, in the northern part of West Bengal for some years, he has recently moved to Calcutta. Most of the characters of his stories are drawn from his direct and varied experiences of life
