Byomkesh Samagra is a Bengali book by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, who popularized the fictional detective character called Byomkesh Baksi. This character has made a significant impact in Bengali literature and has become a loved character. Influenced by Sherlock Holmes, Byomkesh Baksi is intelligent and a bit odd, intriguing readers with his quirks.
This book is a collection of Byomkesh’s stories and some of his peculiarities are that according to him the news lies in the ads in a newspaper and not in its headlines. Although he is a detective, he does not like being called one and sometimes even lets culprits free, even if he knows they are guilty.
