NOTUN JANNAJUDDHA

The subject of this powerful novel is the mushrooming of small factories for nothing but profit in suburban and rural Bengal. These factories owned by petty, ruthless capitalists and profiteers, who care nothing for the local communities, culture or economy, and do nothing to improve the deplorable working conditions of the poor men and women they employ.

Notun Jannajuddha tells the story of a few heros who emerge out of a resistance of a group of ordinary people against just such an illegal liquor factory.
