Nandita Banerjee is no doubt one writer that writes excellent stories. No. 7 the Date, by Nandita, is yet another masterpiece. The story is a continuation of the previous story and takes us on a great adventure into the life of Priya. After the collapse of her marriage, Priya leaves her Houston life behind to seek refuge in Kolkata, India—her hometown. All she wants is to settle down in peace and start her life all over, but, the demons of her past life in Houston still haunt her. She must find a way to deal with her past and get on par with the traditions and culture of her hometown or watch the events tear her apart. As she flees, Houston the events refused to let her be as the curse of the Houston house and her friend’s book followed her back to Kolkata. No.7 the Date, is indeed an interesting and entertaining mystery novel with the undertone of the Amityville horror in contemporary time. The author blends different themes seamlessly. Besides the supernatural theme of this novel, it exposes us to two different cultures. People who love mystery thrillers will find this novel very interesting.
