এই গ্রন্থ খেয়ালি লেখার এক চমৎকার সংকলন। প্রমথ চৌধুরী মনে করতেন ‘খেয়ালী লেখা বড়ো দুষ্প্রাপ্য জিনিস। যা-খুশি তা-ই নিয়ে লেখা যায় এই খেয়ালি লেখা, ‘শুধু ঘষা পয়সা ও মেকি চলবে না।’ এই গ্রন্থে আমরা লক্ষ করি ‘চাড্ডাবাজ’, ‘টেখক’, ‘অট্টহাস্যকর’ ইত্যাদি নানা খেয়ালি লেখা। আড্ডা থেকে তো চা-কে বাদ দেওয়া যায় না। তা-ই চা খেতে খেতে যারা আড্ডা দিতে ভালোবাসে তারাই ‘চাড্ডাবাজ’। ‘টেখক’ কারা ? দৈনিক, সাপ্তহিক, মাসিক পত্রপত্রিকার পাতা বিজ্ঞাপনের কারণে ক্রমশ বেড়ে যায়, আর সেই পাতাগুলো ভরাট করার জন্য চাই ‘ম্যাটার’। সেই ম্যাটার যদি জাবনার মতো খড় বিচলিও হয়, তবু গামলাটা ভরাট রাখতেই হবে। এই ভরাট রাখার কাজটি যাদের করতে হয় তারাই ‘টেখক’। ‘অট্টহাস্যকর’ কী ? ‘হাউলার’ কথাটির সাধু বাংলা। হাউলিং-মাঙ্কির মতোই যা হো-হো করে হাসায়। ‘হ্যামলেট কে লিখেছে ?’ স্কুল ইন্সপেক্টর প্রশ্ন করলেন। ছাত্র কাঁচুমাচু হয়ে বলল ‘আমি লিখিনি স্যার’। এ ধরনের নানা খেয়ালি লেখায় তাঁর ‘খেয়ালখাতা’র পাতাগুলি ভ’রে তুলেছেন বিশিষ্ট লেখক আবদুশ শাকুর। গ্রন্থটি পাঠকের মনের ভাব লাঘব করে তাকে নতুন প্রাণশক্তিতে বড়ো কাজের প্রেরণা জোগাবে।
