He moved to Kolkata in the beginning of the 1950s. Finally while working in an Insurance company in Kolkata, he earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History. In 1969, he sacrificed his job, family-life and domicile in Kolkata to join the revolutionary Naxal movement. After living in Malda, in the northern part of West Bengal for some years, he has recently moved to Calcutta.
